Zuni Made Green Turquoise Bracelet Ring Vintage Old Native American Jewelry... Here we have two old pieces of Zuni made jewelry, from the past. The ring older than bracelet is like from the 1940s maybe 50s. The bracelet probably 60s or 70s. I'm listing them together because of the similarities in the green turquoise color and think they go together well.
I haven't confirmed, but would say the ring originally had bluer stones than it is now. There are several reasons why blue Turquoise over time turns green, some just myths and some are factual.
If turquoise started out blue, using a very fine sanding sheet like 3000 grit or higher will "cut" through the outer green and blue will become visible. Turquoise that started green will never turn blue, because it never was blue to begin with.My guess is the turquoise used in the bracelet is out of nevada, most likely Manassa or Royston. It is a solid tone of deep hunter, dark lime color with no matrix. The bracelet measures 61mm inner center and 73mm outer center. The full inside measures just over 5 it is 9.73mm height top to bottom..
The gap distance is 37.7mm. The stones each measure 4.21mm.
It is unsigned, in good condition. There are 28 stones total in bracelet. The ring size is 6 Measures 38mm long and 17mm wide the six (6) stones measure 9.0mm L x 2.8mm W (each) Weight is 6.35g.
