My wife was born and raised in New Mexico. She was first married in the late 70's and moved to Cochiti Lake. This was home to the Cochiti Pueblo tribe. She started a pottery business in her garage in the late 70's early 80's which is where she acquired most of the turquoise pieces we are listing here. The majority of the larger pieces were from the Santo Domingo Pueblo's, which traded jewelry for her firing their pottery pieces.
A few of the pieces were from the Cochiti Pueblo's for the same purpose. She later became a substitute teacher in Cochiti and also Santo Domingo, which the smaller pieces were given to her as gifts from the children. None of these pieces have been authenticated since they came directly from the tribes themselves. They are all from the 70's 80's era when she lived in that area. They are all beautiful, hand made pieces given directly to her. There are a couple of the pieces that were bought for her by family members, who acquired them from the same tribes. This necklace is 19' in length, hook to hook, and the graduated stones are approx. 15.9 MM to 9.5 MM. We will do the best we can to get photos and dimensions etc.
To accurately describe the pieces. Thank you very much for looking.
