On offer is an authentic, vintage hand wrought Southwest Native American Navajo style sterling silver and natural hand cut and polished Morenci, Arizona Turquoise Starburst or Snowflake pendant on a sterling silver chain necklace. The eight (8) pointed Star is adorned with diamond shaped spokes and raindrops on an oxidized (blackened) ground. It is not hallmarked for maker which was quite common in Native American and Southwest jewelry prior to the 1970's. We believe this fine necklace was created circa 1960.
This striking Southwest Navajo style necklace was executed with attention to detail and is in very good vintage condition (see all photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The heavy box chain has a lobster clasp that is in good working order and is marked. 925, Italy, with a stylized P inc. The brilliant, clear southwest sky blue natural Morenci, Arizona hand cut and polished Turquoise cabochon is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and is firmly and securely set in a plain silver bezel. Overall, the necklace box chain measures approx. 18" long x 1/8" wide. The Starburst disc is approx. 1 9/16 diameter; the bail with loop measures approx.3/4" long x 1/4" wide and has an opening of 1/4. This piece weighs 24.5 grams.
