Total Weight: 1.410 ozt All weights and measurements are estimated and approximate. Kee Brown is a renowned Navajo jewelry designer known for his storyteller cuff bracelets. His hallmark is back to back K's. In the center of this stunning piece is a hogan; a hogan is the primary, traditional dwelling of the Navajo people. To the left is a woman weaving and in front are two Churra sheep and a horse.
Native Americans were first introduced to Churra sheep brought to North America by colonizing Spaniards in the 1500s. The Navajo proved to be very good herders and weavers and Navajo-Churro sheep became a main source of their negotiable wealth. Sheep images in Native American art represent charity, patience, gentleness and riches. There is a Navajo silversmith at work with a woman weaving in the background, a man in a horse-drawn wagon that appears to made from an old car chassis and in the background are two buttes, on is a "mitten butte" so called because of the "thumb" sticking up. The background is textured with sterling silver dust. In our opinion this is in excellent pre-owned condition left in natural patina, but please view all pictures to judge condition for yourself.
