During November and December we are offering gift boxes for Jewelry Upon Request! This Vintage Native American necklace features a beautiful beaded design using turquoise stones and sterling silver metal. The necklace has a length of 14 inches and uses a hook closure. The Heishi brand necklace is perfect for both men and women. The necklace was crafted in the United States in the 70's and has a natural stone creation with an almost uniform round shape that is done by hand.

Heishi jewelry is believed to be the oldest form of jewelry making in New Mexico, and perhaps in all of North America. The word heishi means "shell, " although today the term is often used to reference small handmade beads made from many different natural materials. Making quality Native American heishi necklaces is a time-consuming, labor-intensive process, but the stunning results are worth the effort.
