Roberts Old Style Silver work is very heavy and features many similarities and style ideas from the work of his teacher. Derrick works in traditional Navajo Silverwork, and uses only heavy gauge silver.
Robert- Through an acquaintance, I met the late Kirk Smith during the summer of 1986, Kirk mentored me on his style of silversmiting. Traditional Navajo stamping with an antique finish, sometimes high polished pieces all of which started from bracelets, earrings, concho belts, rings, squash blossoms, hair ties and so forth. It was an exciting time of my life learning a new trade and being able to support myself and my family.This LARGE Squash Blossom Necklace features a perfectly matched set of SONORAN GOLD MOUNTAIN Stones finely set into this large, dramatic, handmade necklace Featuring hand appliqued silver work, and stunning repousse work.
