LARGE EARLY VINTAGE NAVAJO STERLING SILVER FINE NATURAL TURQUOISE RING sz 8.5
On offer is an authentic, vintage NAVAJO hand wrought. 925 sterling silver ring adorned with a beautiful natural hand-cut and polished southwestern desert blue cabochon turquoise stone surrounded by classic raindrop beads. This ring is hand scribed "K S" for its maker or perhaps for former owner, but not hallmarked for silver content which was common in Native American Silver work prior to 1970's. It tested positive for sterling. We believe this ring was created circa 1960 or perhaps earlier.
This classical fancy double split band ring was skillfully crafted with attention to detail in the NAVAJO tradition and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The natural hand-cut and polished southwestern desert blue turquoise cabochon stone is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and is securely set in a smooth silver bezel. The beautiful stone measures approx. 5/8" long x 3/8" wide. The gem quality turquoise is characteristic of material from mines in northern Nevada.Overall, the ring plaque measures approx. 1" long x 9/16" wide; the fancy double split shank is approx. 9/16" tapering to 3/16" wide. This NAVAJO ring will fit approx. It weighs 6.7 grams.
