From a New Mexico estate. Depression era jewelry created by a Santo Domingo artist as early as the 1930s. Materials used were probably black car battery casing, colorful plastic from hair combs and Dairy Queen spoons, natural turquoise chips.
Comparing to other examples, this one appears to be quite large. Pendant is 2 3/8" wide and 3 1/8" tall including the bail. From the knot at the back of the neck to the bottom of the thunderbird is 16. THUNDERBIRD EARRINGS MEASUREMENTS (Earrings are much more rare than necklaces). From the top of the head to the bottom feather measures 1 1/8.
7/8 at the widest point. If you have not read the condition description, one of the thunderbird earrings is missing a red wing tip. 1 1/4" long and 3/8" wide.
