It tested positive for Sterling. We believe this piece was created circa 1960.
This classic bracelet composed of two square and one twisted round rope bands was skillfully crafted in the traditional Navajo technique with attention to detail and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The beautiful turquoise stone is in very good condition with no significant chips, scratches or cracks. The turquoise is firmly and securely set in a smooth silver bezel. The large oval shaped high domed cabochon stone measures approx.1 5/8" long x 1 1/4" wide. The three (3) band bracelet measures approx. 1 5/16 tapering to 3/8 wide. 1 7/8" long x 1 3/8" wide; the interior circumference of the cuff is approx.
6 5/8" TOTAL including 1 3/8" opening. The cuff has a bit of flexibility for careful adjusting and weighs a very hefty 55 grams - 1.770 ounces. This traditional, well crafted vintage Native American Navajo Sterling Silver and Turquoise cuff bracelet created by a skilled artisan would make an outstanding addition to any Twentieth Century Native American Silver and Stone Jewelry, KINGMAN TURQUOISE, or Historic American Cultural Arts and Crafts collection.We have been involved in the design and creation of contemporary jewelry at the undergraduate and postgraduate level since 1967.
