On offer is an authentic, vintage NAVAJO hand wrought Sterling Silver cuff bracelet that is adorned with three (3) hand cut and polished southwest cabochon TIGER'S EYE or possibly NELLITE stones. The bracelet is made of two (2) carinated knife edge angle bands decorated with classic hand stamped crescent motifs. The bracelet is capped at both ends. This bracelet is not hallmarked which was quite common in Native American Silver Jewelry prior to the 1970's. Although not marked for silver content it tested positive for Sterling.
We believe this piece was created circa 1960 or perhaps earlier. This classically designed bracelet was skillfully crafted in the traditional NAVAJO technique with attention to detail and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The three (3) brilliant TIGER'S EYE or possibly NELLITE stones are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The larger central stone has some blue streak inclusions which could indicate Hawk Eye Nellite. The oval shaped cabochon stones are firmly and securely set in serrated silver bezels.
The two (2) side stones each measure approx. 3/4" long x 9/16" wide - the central stone is approx. 1" long x 3/4" wide. Overall, the bracelet measures approx.1 3/16" tapering to 7/16" wide. The interior circumference of the cuff is approx. 6 3/4" TOTAL including 1 3/8" opening.
The cuff has a bit of flexibility for careful adjusting and weighs a very hefty 41.5 grams - 1.335 ounces. This unique, well crafted vintage NAVAJO Sterling Silver and TIGER'S EYE or possibly NELLITE stone cuff bracelet created by a skilled Navajo artisan would make an outstanding addition to any Twentieth Century Native American Silver and Stone Jewelry, Tiger's Eye / Hawk Eye Nellite or Historic American Cultural Arts and Crafts collection. We have been involved in the design and creation of contemporary jewelry at the undergraduate and postgraduate level since 1967. In 1975 we opened a gallery of hand wrought fine art contemporary jewels and have since handled thousands of unique, one of a kind and limited edition pieces crafted predominantly by American artisans with a special emphasis on Native American Art. Will be determined upon request. We believe our photos and description to be an accurate testament. Thus, ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
