LARGE VINTAGE NAVAJO NATIVE AMERICAN STERLING SILVER MOSS PLUME AGATE RING sz 12
On offer is an authentic, big handsome vintage NAVAJO STERLING SILVER ring that is adorned with a beautiful natural hand-cut and polished oval shaped flat cabochon DENDRITIC/MOSS agate stone, hand stamped motifs all around and two (2) raindrop beads. The ring is not hallmarked which was common in Native American silver work prior to the 1970's. It tested positive for Sterling. We believe it was created circa 1950. This classic ring was skillfully crafted with attention to detail in the traditional NAVAJO technique and is in very good vintage condition (see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction).
The color of the agate is a blend of golden and tortoise brown tones with a few flecks of black on a translucent ground (any white marks, lines or spots are due to lighting reflections and are not flaws). The one-of-a-kind dendritic moss agate appears to be from the Oregon or Montana area of the United States. The large hand-cut and polished oval shaped flat cabochon Agate stone is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and is firmly and securely set in a plain silver bezel.
1 1/8" long x 5/8" wide. The split ring band measures approx 1/4" tapering to 3/16" wide. This large ring will fit approx. Size 12 and weighs 9.5 grams. 925 sterling silver and natural DENDRITIC / MOSS Agate, NAVAJO ring, crafted by a skilled artisan, would make a classic addition to any Twentieth Century Native American NAVAJO Sterling Silver and Stone Jewelry, Western American Agate, or Historic American Cultural Arts and Crafts collection.
