Huge Sz 15 Heavy Vintage Signed Art Acoya Navajo Sterling Silver Turquoise Ring
On offer is an authentic, vintage HUGE handsome NAVAJO hand wrought. 925 sterling silver ring adorned with a beautiful natural hand-cut and polished rectangle shaped southwestern desert blue green cabochon turquoise stone. It is also decorated with raindrop beads and stylized peyote feathers crafted in the overlay technique. This ring is hallmarked A A for the renowned artist maker ART ACOYA but not for silver content which was common in Native American Silver work prior to 1970's. The ring tested positive for Sterling Silver.
We believe the ring was created circa 1970. This classical wide banded ring was skillfully crafted with attention to detail in the NAVAJO tradition and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The natural hand cut and polished desert blue green cabochon Turquoise stone is in very good condition and is firmly and securely set in a fancy hand made silver bezel. The stone measures approx 3/4" long x 9/16" wide. Overall, the ring plaque measures approx.
1 1/16" long x 3/4" wide; the wide shank is approx. 1" tapering to 1/4" wide. This NAVAJO ring will fit approx. It weighs a very hefty.875 ounce - 27.2 grams.
