VINTAGE STERLING SILVER & TURQUOISE/CORAL CHIP INLAY pin brooch. By WILLIAM SINGER - NAVAJO. Vintage 1970's handmade sterling silver pin brooch with natural turquoise and coral chip inlay. Pin brooch has hand stamped design around border. Measures 2"½inches long, 1"½ inches wide.

Artist hallmark on back About the Artist. (Born circa 1935) This Navajo jeweler is noted to have been active making jewelry from 1972 forward. Known for his silver jewelry employing chip inlay, he is a brother of Tommy Singer (another well known jeweler), Charlie Singer and Jackie Singer. William Singer stamps his jewelry "S/D" to signify his authorship. He is referenced in Gregory Schaaf's book American Indian Jewelry III: M-Z 2,100 Artist Biographies as well as Barton Wright's revised book of American Indian hallmarks, publishedin 2000.
